In 2014 Glu launched Kim Kardashian: Hollywood, the social game based around the American celebrity. It was incredibly successful. But times have changed and now her two little half-sisters, Kendall and Kylie Jenner, have cornered the market of magazine covers and social networks.
Their success made the new Kendall and Kylie game an attractive – and profitable - proposition, and it should come as no surprise that it takes a very similar approach to Kim Kardashian: Hollywood.
The road to success with the Jenners
Kendall and Kylie puts you in the shoes of a newcomer to California in search of fame, fortune, and a hectic social life. You start doing odd jobs for local businesses while meeting other young people like you – slowly climbing the social ladder towards the Jenner sisters.
Kendall and Kylie (the people, not the game) sponsor you and guide you on your way to be someone in the celebrity industry. This involves attending events, getting on fashion show runways, and posting photos on the game’s social network - a clone of Instagram.
Work is as important as personal relationships, so take care of your friends and acquaintances, and hangout with them to improve your social and professional network.
The work of a media star is not easy
Kendall and Kylie is a carbon copy of Kim Kardashian: Hollywood, only switching out Kim for her siblings. The game plays the same: you complete tasks in a given time, spending wisely your energy points and allowing them to recharge. The more tasks you complete the more your level will go up, and the more events and activities you unlock.
Also, like in Kim’s game, the appearance of your character and house are very important. The money you earn you can buy furniture, properties, and exclusive clothes and accessories.
Kendall and Kylie does add one major new feature however, the new Instagram style social network which earns you fans to help you level up. It also supports playing with your device held vertically to make the experience faster and more agile.
A must for fans of the Kardashian-Jenner universe
If you like the Kardashian-Jenner sisters you cannot miss this second outing. The game is full of winks to this famous family and their celebrity circle. Of course, if you hate this type of game or have a passionate dislike of the famous, avoid Kendall and Kylie. But, if you feel like that, I would be surprised if you made it this far through the review...
